HELENA'S 17TH
Thursday, 27 May 2010
*NEWS FLASH*
Can't wait until half term and then June 9th where all my exams will be over and i can enjoy the summer. Today genuinely revised politics for 12 hours (!!!) but am still unsure about large sections, bleurghhhhhhhhhhh. It's in the morning so afterwards Molly and I are going to drown our sorrows in a two pound 'Pot of Chocolate' from Joe's, a prospect so incredibly exciting in comparison to my past activities this week that i almost feel emotional mentioning it.
On the plus side, U2 are no longer playing Glastonbury, it's Helena's birthday party on Sunday and my family are going away for most of half term so am taking Jae in on as a temporary housemate. We are planning a mini-comune that i am very much looking forward to.
Also, not entirely sure about the band yet but i thought this video was lovely.

I miss facebook

Since deactivating my account two months ago in preparation for exams, i have managed to find new ways to use the internet such as starting a blog, tetris, googling everything and now, internet shopping. I miss finding out gossip and seeing all the interesting pictures, it's sad but technology truly does play a vital role in our social lives these days.
On other news, this picture is really cool.
Have failed to send Amber and Maddy letters in Cicero/Atticus style as promised and must apologise for that. If it's any consolation i wrote you one on the back of a revision card in my library last week (complete with drawings and decoration) but forget to post it!

This video is bullshit
Finally, an accurate translation! Fabri fibra, we do not want your johnson.
In Brighton if I wanna know how you're doing, the question and the answer is: Alright mate
If someone's in your face and trouble is brewing, the words you're gonna hear is: Alright mate
If you wanna open bank accounts in London-town, the only thing you gotta say is: Alright mate
If you don't wanna talk cuz you're feeling down, the only thing you gotta say is: Alright mate
In England the girls drink all night long
They give it up the first date man you can't go wrong
They put their clothes on when you finish the game
They don't even mind takin the walk of shame
Over in England life goes much faster
Smokin weed is a pleasure; less puffers, more passers
And when you smoke this shit, it makes you lose your voice
Quando fumi questa merda, man you lose your voice
SAY WHAT
Big Fish, do you speak English?
Fabri Hibbron, do you speak English?
I'm askin you son, do you speak English, do you speak English, WHOA
I wanna go in Inghilterra, Inghilterra, Inghilterra, etc.
In England you're broke and they give you welfare
In Italy you're broke, well life can be unfair
If you're gay and you're in Italy, don't let people know
If you're in England, they'll promote you to CEO
Fibra thinks in England there's no IVA, but I've paid it in England, so suck it Fibra
In Italy the girls have skin like silk, but British girls drink Vodka like I drink milk
and they bonk you in the bathroom while you're taking a pee,
with her drunk friend puking up her crumpets and tea
Over in England, disco's swingin, rap is swinging, hip-hop is swinging,
the snatch is singin and my ears are ringing, the girls all want my johnson so that's what I'm bringin
Who is number one? a bullet for my gun, like duran duran we're hip-hop hooligans raga
Big Fish, do you speak English?
Fabri Hibbron, do you speak English?
I'm askin you son, do you speak English, do you speak English, WHOA
I wanna go in Inghilterra, Inghilterra, Inghilterra, etc.
Enjoy the silence
BOOM. And just like that I'm bidding you adieu
Cuz people here only talk about how they screw
Although they barely ever hit it, and that's true
The girls in England want it so bad they'll wait in a queue
No stressing, and no guessing, the girls are easy so there's plenty of undressing
While girls in Italy are still just obsessing
And in Britian if you take a closer look at the street,
You'll notice that the hookers aren't walking the beat
They got'em if you want 'em if you know where to look
But in Italy they keep 'em in a jail with the crooks
In England your dreams'll never be denied
I know the grass is greener on the other side
Cuz in England white rappers don't get treated like they're wack
In England I'd have won a VMA and that's a fact
chorus x2

My Election Night
Wednesday, 5 May 2010
And now for some light relief, Patti.
Oh jesus,

Election prospects feel bleak. After weeks of daily discussion and debate about the parties, their leaders and the potential outcomes of different percentages, i am beginning to despair at the quite realistic prospect of a Conservative government. Despite now being substantially politically educated, it seems i am leaning towards that 'disillusionment' with British politics that so many young people complain of today.
However, there remains a ray of hope in terms of the Brighton Pavilion constituency which looks likely to elect the first Green MP ever, Caroline Lucas. She took part in a debate with the other candidates at my college and was the only person who stayed on afterwards to visit lessons and take student questions. We love you Caroline!
